What is EDLC?

In general, capacitors have an insulating material, known as a dielectric, between two opposing electrodes. 

However, EDLC operates without a conventional dielectric. Instead, it leverages a physical mechanism to create a double-layer structure with dielectric-like properties. This is why it is referred to as a double-layer capacitor. The charging and discharging process in double-layer capacitors occurs through an ion-absorption layer formed on the surfaces of the positive and negative electrodes, utilizing a phenomenon known as adsorption and desorption.

Coin Series

The Coin series supercapacitor resembles a button battery, but it differs from traditional batteries in that it doesn’t require charge-discharge control circuits. This characteristic makes it more convenient for circuit design and results in cost savings. Additionally, supercapacitors primarily rely on physical reactions and are non-polluting.

With a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and a voltage tolerance range from 3.6V to 6.3V, the button cell series can handle a variety of conditions.

These capacitors excel in high-temperature environments, with a maximum operating temperature of 85°C. They are suitable for applications such as automotive sound systems, electronic calculators, and other devices operating in high-temperature conditions. They are especially ideal for equipment requiring long lifespans, as they offer more than double the lifespan compared to 70°C products (the lifespan of high-temperature series products is more than double that of products guaranteed at 70°C for 1000 hours).
